Waddesdon

This collection is named after Waddesdon Church of England Secondary school in Bucks, where I spent 18 months as artist in residence in 2005. This imagery is the first digital collection I created there, made up of paintwork, sculpture, and digital embroidery, collecting a range of marks to fuse together digitally.

I created imagery that felt like research, a study of surface, delicacy, light and dark and the tones in between. Irregular shapes revealed themselves, shapes I could extract and develop. I printed, drew, painted, and stitched these shapes. They became part of my visual language and have their roots back in Waddesdon.
