C F McEwan designer Clare McEwan is one of the four selected artists for the Dartford Creative Art in the Public Realm Commission. Project launches 25th June – 30th July.

Clare has created two installations for Dartford capturing the viewpoints and architecture of the town centre, titled Caving the View.  Using photography, mono-printing and drawings of Dartford, Clare presents two large scale works making use of a lenticular process – allowing multiple images to be viewed from different angles.

Made in Clerkenwell is a bi-annual celebration of Craft Central resident designer makers and Network members. Held across two historic Victorian buildings, this is an opportunity for the public to go ‘behind the scenes’ and explore the studios of the renowned design community.

This Spring Clare will develop a new piece of work for the public realm.  Along with three other local artists, Clare has been selected for a commission in partnership with Dartford Creative, Dartford Borough Council and Arts Council England.

Work is in progress and set to be installed by June 25th, 2016 in Dartford town centre in Kent.  Clare is looking at the theme of connectivity, movement and mapping within Dartford, to create a temporary, engaging piece of work for the Dartford Town Centre.  Read Clare’s blog to follow progress of the commission.

A selection of silk scarves are now on sale in the discrete and charming salon by Gianni Capitano in St John’s Wood, London.

The salon displays a beautiful wooden cabinet, holding exclusive designs by independent makers.  For the next couple of months, Gianni’s clients can browse a Spring Summer collection of C F McEwan large silk scarves.

I met with Gianni at the salon to select the scarves and was greeted in the impeccable space, just tucked around the corner from the famous Abbey Wood Studios in North London.  Gianni is renowned for his highly personal and professional service and thrilled he has hand picked these scarves for the salon.
